CDC mask wearing guidance supported on Procore Projects

We just added support for the CDC's new guidance on mask wearing for people who have been fully vaccinated. The guidance, recently released by the CDC is increasingly being adopted across States, going live today in Massachusetts who follow Connecticut, Illinois, Kentucky, Nevada, Oregon, Pennsylvania and Washington state who have already adopted the CDC mask wearing guidance (as at May 31, 2021).

What is the CDC Mask Wearing Guidance

Under the new guidance people who have been fully vaccinated can resume activities they did prior to the pandemic. From the CDC:

Fully vaccinated people can resume activities without wearing a mask or physically distancing, except where required by federal, state, local, tribal, or territorial laws, rules, and regulations, including local business and workplace guidance.

How does Nyfty Help?

Nyfty's Attendance Bot now includes an optional question, with customisable messaging, making it possible for you to distinguish between vaccinated and non-vaccinated workers and visitors, advising them of the local rules for your project, and using that data to trigger other Bots, such as a reduced "Fit for Work" survey for vaccinated workers, and a full COVID Health Survey for non-vaccinated workers.

In most cases, people who are fully vaccinated no longer have to wear a mask, but continue to check-in each day. Whereas non Vaccinated workers, who either haven't yet had the vaccine or don't intend to, will be advised to continue wearing a mask.

The messaging you send is completely customisable, so you can support your company policies, such as vaccinated workers wearing a hard hat decal, or you may simply need to let workers know that the Owner has requested masks be worn despite the CDC Guidance being adopted by the state.

What does Fully Vaccinated mean?

According to the CDC website:

In general, people are considered fully vaccinated:

  • 2 weeks after their second dose in a 2-dose series, such as the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines, or

  • 2 weeks after a single-dose vaccine, such as Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen vaccine

If you don’t meet these requirements, regardless of your age, you are NOT fully vaccinated. Keep taking all precautions until you are fully vaccinated.

If you have a condition or are taking medications that weaken your immune system, you may NOT be fully protected even if you are fully vaccinated. Talk to your healthcare provider. Even after vaccination, you may need to continue taking all precautions.
